ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆ | Comprehension in the Exam

ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಒಂದು ಗದ್ಯಭಾಗವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಅದರಿಂದಲೇ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಯುಜಿಸಿ ನೆಟ್ ಪೇಪರ್ 1 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಗದ್ಯಭಾಗದ ಮೇಲೆ ಐದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ. | As per the syllabus a passage is given and questions are asked from it, and UGC NET Paper 1 usually has five questions on one passage.

ಓದುವ ತಂತ್ರಗಳು | Reading Techniques

  • ಸ್ಕಿಮ್ಮಿಂಗ್ (Skimming): ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಪಡೆಯಲು ವೇಗದ ಓದು, ಮೊದಲ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊನೆಯ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಗಮನ. | Skimming: fast reading for the general idea, focusing on first and last sentences.
  • ಸ್ಕ್ಯಾನಿಂಗ್ (Scanning): ಹೆಸರು, ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಅಥವಾ ಪದದಂತಹ ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಮಾಹಿತಿಗಾಗಿ ಹುಡುಕುವುದು. | Scanning: searching for specific information such as a name, number or word.
  • ವಿಷಯ ವಾಕ್ಯ (Topic Sentence): ಪ್ಯಾರಾದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳುವ ವಾಕ್ಯ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ. | Topic sentence: the sentence giving the main idea of a paragraph, often at the start.
  • ಸಂಕ್ರಮಣ ಪದಗಳು (Transition Words): ಆದರೆ, ಆದರೂ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮುಂತಾದ ಪದಗಳು ವಾದದ ದಿಕ್ಕನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. | Transition words: words such as but, yet and therefore show the direction of the argument.

ಆಯ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವ ನಿಯಮಗಳು | Rules for Eliminating Options

  • ಗದ್ಯಭಾಗದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಹೋಗುವ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ತಪ್ಪು. | An option that goes beyond the scope of the passage is wrong.
  • ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ, ಎಂದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಮಾತ್ರ, ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಎಂಬಂತಹ ಅತಿರೇಕದ ಪದಗಳಿರುವ ಆಯ್ಕೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರ. | Be careful of options with extreme words such as always, never, only and completely.
  • ನಿಜವಾದರೂ ಗದ್ಯಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಸಂಗತಿ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಉತ್ತರವಲ್ಲ. | A fact that is true but not in the passage is not the correct answer.
  • ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೇ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮಿತವಾದ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂಕುಚಿತ. | In a main idea question an option limited to one sentence is too narrow.

ಉದಾಹರಣೆ | Example
